I wholly reject the narrative that we must be “tolerant” towards individuals that continue to allow for these statistics to persist in our “modern” society.
Being silent as things like this happen is condoning the behavior. If you are an ally, it is your job to protect your fellow lovelies – even if they are not there (this does not mean use us as examples without our permission, just tell the person why they’re in the wrong).
End LGBTQIA discrimination by offering up your voice and standing up for what is right. After all, we are all human beings. We are all deserving of kindness, love, and respect.
